I Bleed blue

I guess anyone that's been around here for more then a day or two knows that I am a retired police officer here in Colorado; a fact that I am proud of.  I'm not writing this looking for applause or compliments. In the past 30 days, three law enforcement officers here in my home state have paid the ultimate price while doing a job that, without knowing any of them, I could tell you they loved.

I can say that because I know I did and you don't take on a job like that unless you're trying to make the world a little safer place to live. When you are a law enforcement officer you are part of a family that will never turn it's back on you; in life or in death.

Today I grieve not only for three Colorado law enforcement officers, but also for so many others around our great country that have given their lives to make our communities a little safer.
