This is not a book review: Fly Fishing Trips, Short Duration & Car Accessible

I don't do a lot of book reviews unless I'm really sold on the book being a worthwhile read for my fellow blogging fishermen.  This will be a little bit of an exception in that I haven't read Fly Fishing Trips: Short Duration & Car Accessible by Victor R. Johnson, Jr.

Let me explain.  Mr Johnson is the author or co-author of many fine fishing related books including among others:

America's Fishing Waders: The Evolution of Modern Fishing Waders (Hodgman, 1838 to Date)

Fenwick: Fenwick's History and Rods, Including the Development of the First Graphite Rod

Fiberglass Fly Rods: Evolution of the Modern Fly Rod from Bamboo to Graphite, 20th Anniversary Edition

This book is a little different though. Shortly after the publication of Fiberglass Fly Rods, Mr. Johnson sent out a questionnaire asking for recommendations for fishing destinations that were of short duration and car accessible.  So, what we have here is a compilation of  the information he collected from all over the world.

I will mention again, that I have not read this book, BUT I have several of Mr. Johnson's books so I can speak authoritatively about his diligent research about whatever topic he addresses.  My own personal bias aside, I am looking forward to getting a copy of Fly Fishing Trips because I like reading about destinations outside of Colorado that I may or may not ever have the chance to visit.

If you'd like to order a copy you can contact Victor R. Johnson, Jr. at
