A letter to Mother Nature

Dear Mother Nature,
I want to wish you a belated Happy Earth Day. I would have written yesterday but as you well know, it was a beautiful day and I didn't have to work. I decided that the best way to help you celebrate your day would be to spend some time outdoors. The temperature was close to 80 degrees and not a sign of your cousin Wind.

I took a trip up to Clear Creek to do a little fishing in your honor.  I still say that you did a really great job decorating the canyon. But as you know, man in his infinite wisdom always thinks he can do a better job. They call it progress. I call it nonsense.

I don't know if you remember or not but we talked last year about some of the "improvements" that are being made up in the canyon. Well, they're coming to fruition and I thought you might like to see what they've done.

Keep in mind that it's still early spring here in this part of the world and that you haven't dressed up the place yet.

A lone gold panner

That old bridge you left behind so many years ago

The sign says it all

Posted for the world to see

One of several new bridges across the river

Progress is a walking trail on the other side of the river

This used to be where I started every fishing trip...not now

There were more construction equipment than fishermen

One nice run that was open I think...no one there

They won't be able to do much to this

One lone fly fisherman

On the way there

On the way home

A little "art"

And a little humor
