The pause that refreshes

It was bitter cold yesterday morning as I got ready for my appearance at the Fly Fishing Show.  It was almost shirtsleeve weather when I arrived after lunch time.  In other words, I was late for the ball and I had to kiss a frog.  And even though I was thrown off schedule, a good time was had by ya'll.

My buddy Mark, who drove me to the show, had to rent a car to get us there after his car was "snowplowed."  -Thanks Mark!

There were a lot of people when we arrived, as usual, but the crowds thinned fairly quickly after lunch. Which turned into a blessing for a couple of old geezers (Fly Fishing Crazy) Larry Snyder and I.  All the usual suspects were there along with some new companies, which made things a little different and a lot enjoyable this year.  I wasn't very organized this year as you'll see.

I don't know why I took a picture of the  Ptomaine Palace

Ed Engel was one of many talented fly tyers

Rep Your Water!  A great Colorado business

Corinne from Rep Your Water.  Beautiful smile...great folks!

Stone Creek...another great Colorado business

Bristol Bay sounded familiar to me

My good neighbor Umpqua was there

Charlie Craven from Charlies Fly Shop! The best in Colorado

It was a true pleasure to meet Kristy and Lindsey from NuCast!

Always special, the guys from Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing-Denver

Another great fly tyer, Rich Strollis...what a nice guy!

The man who's into everything!  Al Ritt, great fly tyer and personality.

One of my favorites, "Hopper" Juan Ramirez and I had a little time to shoot the breeze.  I'm going to fish the Arkansas with him this year if it's the last thing I do.
Dave Whitlock just keeps going and going and is one of the most popular attractions year in and year out.

Well...I didn't get to do much looking at gear this year so you'll have to find out what's new from another source.  I had an excellent time, just not enough of it to catch all the things I wanted to see.  David Goodrich, it was nice to finally meet up and we'll get together again one of these days!
