A trip to Rocky Mountain National Park

A friend of mine sent me a message asking me to check out a video done by a friend of his. As it turned out, I had already seen a trailer for Fly Fishing Rocky Mountain National Park - The Movie by local Josh Rikard at Rocky Mountain Fly Fisher.

Most everyone who has ever held a fly rod has heard of Rocky Mountain National Park. It is truly one of the gems of the National Park System.

After watching the video several times, I left a message for Josh on Youtube. I'd love to watch the whole video and do a review. Josh graciously sent me a copy of the movie and agreed to send a commercial package when it was released. To say that I was excited is an understatement. Rocky Mountain National Park has long been one of my favorite places to visit. Whether for fishing, hiking or photography, the Park is an endless bounty of breathtaking scenery and wildlife all professionally captured to watch over and over again.

Josh's movie, approximately 35 minutes long, is a combination guided fishing trip (divided into different park locations) and some of the best photography of the Park I have seen anywhere, coupled with a soundtrack that just fits the serenity that is Rocky Mountain National Park.

One of the surprises is Josh's low key approach to narration and his insightful tips on how to fish the various waters along with conservation and safety tips. Another feature is an introduction into the varied species of trout available for fishermen in the Park. If you love to watch wildlife, there is plenty of that as well.

Josh Rikard beautifully captured the feeling and experience of Rocky Mountain National Park. For the fisherman, there is no shortage of stunning fish, gently released to fight another day while being reminded of the fragile nature of the Park and preserving it for coming generations.

I can hardily recommend Fly Fishing Rocky Mountain Park for those who already visit or those whose plans include visiting the Park sometime in the future.

If you would be interested in ordering a copy on DVD or Blu-Ray, visit Rockymountainflyfisher.com. While visiting, check out Josh's other videos of fishing in Colorado. You won't be disappointed. My thanks to Josh for allowing me to preview his movie.
